The total construction cost for a log home or timber frame home varies across the United States.
The total construction cost for a log home or timber frame home varies across the United States. On average, the turn-key cost is between $150.00 - $300.00 per square foot. Turn-key means the home is finished and ready for you to move in. It does not include the cost of the land or any improvements to the land, such as the building of a driveway, forest clearing, the installation of utilities, etc. The two primary cost factors are the style of home you choose to build and the cost of labor in your area.
Below is a simple chart to calculate the average turn-key cost for the different log and timber home styles we offer.
|Home Style||Cost Per Sq. Ft.|
|Summit Mountain Retreat||$130.00 - $180.00|
|Milled||$150.00 - $200.00|
|Handcrafted||$200.00 - $300.00|
|Timber Frame||$200.00 - $300.00|
|Post & Beam or Fusion||$200.00 - $300.00|
|Dovetail||$200.00 - $300.00|

|Item||Cost Per Sq. Ft.|
|Finished Basement||$60.00 - $100.00|
|Unfinished Basement||$30.00 - $45.00|
|Garage||$50.00 - $100.00|
The cost of our log work is calculated in the per sq. ft. price ranges above. Typically, the log work will amount to 25% - 33% of the turn-key cost.
